All here in one easy place for you rather than skimming all over the web for them. Also, if you are fairly new to graphic tablets please venture over to the article, Choosing a Tablet and it will help you with some of the graphic tablet lingo.

Overall Best Affordable Graphics Tablets

You can see the older article, 5 Best Affordable Graphics Tablets, but below is an updated list. For those of you who did not read the aforementioned article, the criteria for affordable tablets is any tablet under $100.00. However, this is criteria is for affordable tablets overall. In the list you will see a few tablets that break the $100.00 criteria, but within their niche they are the best affordable ones. For instance the Yiynova tablets at the bottom are tried and true alternatives to the Cintiqs. The latter is also in this article primarily because in it’s niche it is one of the best tablets on the market. However, the Yiynova, at this time is probably the best affordable alternative.

The Intous Pen and Touch Small Tablet series has replaced the Wacom Bamboo. It is a nice, light weight tablet with various attributes. It comes with a pen holder and 3 extra nibs for the pen. It’s ideal for art students or hobbyist looking for affordable tablet options. There are some negative issues with the tablet if you’re a former Bamboo user. Complaints have been made regarding the tablet’s texture as compared to the old Bamboo. Apparently there is some distaste for the style of pen holder as well. There have also been some issues with the free software. Apart from this the Intous Pen and Touch Small has over a hundred 5 star reviews on Amazon and is an Amazon Best Seller.

The Huion H610 is one of the better Wacom alternatives on the market. There are some finicky driver issues and it was a runner up for the 5 Affordable Graphics Tablets but because I chose the Tursion instead for its price. One of the bigger pluses of the Huion H610 Pro is the rechargeable pen. However, the H610 Pro has all the usual expectations of a higher end tablet. Customizable hot keys, nice weight to the pen and tablet, high pressure levels and a good drawing surface in the active area. Aside from the finicky drivers, one user had severe problems getting the tablet to work on Windows 8, however another user had success by following strict instructions of 1) Not plugging in the tablet first, 2) removing any other tablet software then restarting, 3) installing the Huion H610 pro driver from installation disc or the Huion website. Then Restarting, and lastly 4) Plug in the tablet and ensure the icon shows up in the lower right corner. Once the tablet is operational it rivals many on the market in its smoothness and productivity.

Overall Best Graphics Tablets

MVP22U

Yiynova MVP22U
Cost: $969.00 (At Amazon)

OS Compatibility: Windows XP/Vista/7/8, Mac OS 10.4 or above

The Yiynova MVP22U is one of the upgrades to Panda City’s MSP19U which is also considered one of the best graphics tablets. The MVP22U, however hit or miss depending on the user. Most complain about the font display back in November of 2013 while others have had issues with drivers. As usual you should ensure any graphic tablet drivers installed on your system are successfully removed before attempting to install new ones. Especially Wacom drivers if you’re going to install an “off-brand” tablet. Also, it would be unwise to use this device as a primary display as there have been complaints regarding that aspect. However, overall the MVP22U is touted as a highly productive Cintiq alternative. The drawing is smooth and accurate due to the UC Logic digitizer.

MSP19U

Yiynova MSP19U
Cost: $619.00

Pressure Sensitivity: 2048 levels

Screen Size: 21.5 Inches diagonal
Response Time: 5 ms
ExpressKeys: 8
Connections: VGA
OS Compatibility: Windows XP/Vista/7/8, Mac OS 10.4 or above

With over 50 five star reviews at Amazon, the MSP19 U is a formidable rival to the Wacom Cintiq 13-22inch series. Its price is highly seductive compared to $1,000 – $2,500.00 priced Cintiqs. Unfortunately the MSP19U does not have customizable buttons on the actual display or an eraser option on the pen. Some user have dealt with display issues, but after successful calibration found a suitable setting to work with. The MSP19U rivals Cintiqs in the smoothness and accuracy of strokes while drawing. The screen is slick, a negative blow for some, but also gives it a smooth and easy surface to draw on. Overall this is a good choice as an alternative to Cintiqs.

The Cintiq series are well known and their reputations speak for themselves.  With touch technology, well designed displays and high levels of sensitivity the Wacom Cintiq series are considered some of the best if you can get past the expensive price.

Conclusion

While there are far more tablets on the market, this is a list compiled by me as some of the best options. Runner ups would be the Monoprice 10X6.25 for $58.21 and the 12X9 for $97.42 at Amazon, the Tursion 10 X 6.25 for $57.99, VT Realm Graphic Pen Tablet for $119.99, the Huion 8X5 to name a few. Ultimately picking a tablet and how you feel about it will be largely up to your work style and priorities.

I hope this has helped you in some way,

    • Parth,

You can get anything from Huion to an old Wacom Intous Pro. You can also get an Artisul D10 or Parbol Coast10 mini graphic display tablet as well.
